Even though the youth is not allowed to vote this eclection is such a big impact. Listening to the NPR I learned that even the youth can comunicate to Barack Obama and John McCain as friends on facebook and can share their ideas. I feel like this is an amazing connection that these candidates are trying to make. It really makes everyone feel important. This obviously was one of my favorite debates because I am older and so much more aware. Plus the fact that it is a historical moment for our country and parts of the world. Technology is just an amazing thing. If a debate occured I thought it would be amazing that right away it would be talked about on the web. It's good for younger people to learn about candidates becuase it was everywhere on the computer and almost every teen has made going on the computer a daily task. SNL was a sky rocket idea. It was great for SNL and people that were not educated about the election through other media. Watching SNL taught you a lot of what you needed to know even though everything is exaggerated. It was great for SNL because speaking for me I would watch SNL regularly just to see how they were going to present the candidates. The first SNL skit that pulled me in was the one done by Amy Poler and Tina Fey when they acted like Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin. It was so funny to me and it really was an exaggerated truth about the two.

I never really thought about that youth that couldn't vote effecting the election - but I totally agree! And it's really cool that using facebook can make a young person more politically aware. This is the first election where I have been aware of whats going on and I realize that the impact of technology on this election was new and an interesting twist to the normal election process

I completely agree about the SNL thing and how it partially pulled in the youth and made the election funny. I think its really interesting that people can use facebook to be involved in this election and politics in general.

I do agree with what you said about the connections the candidates were making with the youth. Some of the youth can vote but even the ones that don't can impact the election so much because they can influence the people around them. Also, about what you said about the impact of SNL, I think it was tremendous. SNL is a funny late night show that people watch and it can put such a perspective on the candidates. It can pull voters from one candidate to another if what they see is exaggerated because people believe what they see on t.v.
