Amir's amends

Amir made the mistake of not standing up for Hassan and lying. He should have told Hassan and apologized. I am not sure that he is ever going to be able to make amends because he keeps avoiding Hassan and he is trying to get rid of him. Maybe in the future if he stands up for someone else getting rapped and then he can feel atonement with himself.

kite runner atonement

It is possible to make amends. I think that it depends on the person to accept. Somethings may be thought unforgivable but I think that everyone should try to make amends instead of it becoming more and more hatred. It really all depends on yourself if you make the mistake and to atone.

The book will be about her not feeling like she fits in America from her Afgan heritage
will she ever feel comfortable in America? How much will her heritage effect her?

The BACK:
She was born in California into an Iranian community. She feels uncomfortable with her identity and college has a big effect with that. She moves to Tehran as a journalist. Living her she finds interesting results. This story is about her searching for her "home" country that may not exist.

This book sounds like it will be a struggle for the main character to find out who she is and to be comfortable with who she is as well.

The setting is in Palo Alto, California and Tehran. The main characters name is Azdeh Moaveni.

Inside the BOOK:
copyright 2005/ published 2006 by PublicAffairs

For her parents and Kaveh Golestan

Intro, the secret garden, homecoming, we don't need no revolution, my country is sick, election, I'm too sexy for my veil, love in a time of struggle, summer of the cockroah, not without my mimosa, acknowledgments, permissions.

no other books written

It's descriptive and in first person

Overall IMPRESSION:
This book will be about Azadeh struggeling with the American culture because she feels out of place. She will move to Tehran and learn that the culture there is so much more confusing and harder to fit in with. Will she move back to America? What makes her move to Tehran? What are her parents like, do they make it hard for her to fit in?

Good vs. Evil

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing.
- Edmund Burke

I strongly agree with the quote. Every person is going to need a hand every now and then. The only way the world will succeed is if we help one another. Specially if people live by an eye for an eye...then only good will come from it and everyone will help everyone to make this a happier place.

Decision making

Most decisions I make are based around my friends and family. I usually always attempt to make the right decision. Usually with my decision making I would like to think that I put other before me, to make them happy. With my college decisions I try to see what has the best offer. That can be education, money, internships, how far away from home it is, transportation, and etc. It seems that when I am about to make a decision it mostly just falls into place. The person I would like to become is someone who makes decisions always thinking of others if I don't do so already.

SPRING BREAK

My good was I went to New York City to visit my uncle. I did some shopping even though I did not buy anything. I love just walking around the New York so I was happy just to be there. After we went to an authentic Cuban restaurant with loud spanish music that we couldn't hear one another talk. There were lights and it was just very festive.
