When she goes to her friend's house she is "Iranian acceptable". When she leave the house she Americanizes herself which would be unacceptable for her parents. Her father has abandon the Iranian culture and because of that Azadeh wishes she lived with her dad. Her mother still is a firm follower of Iranian traditions. section 2 of IR

Azadeh was born in California. This book is talking about Azadeh's past. She already lived in Tehran where she was a reporter. When she came back she realized how much she appreciates her freedom. Her family stays very close to the Iranian culture. Iranians are not fond of Americans because of the Iranian revolution. Azadeh's grandparents were the ones to come over to San jose. Reading Azadeh's thoughts on how she precieves everything seems like she takes it too much to heart and she puts too much effort into it. "Asay-e dast-e mani, you are my hand's cane" was what her grandmother said to her. Azadeh takes bigger responsibilities than she has to.

Amir's amends

Amir made the mistake of not standing up for Hassan and lying. He should have told Hassan and apologized. I am not sure that he is ever going to be able to make amends because he keeps avoiding Hassan and he is trying to get rid of him. Maybe in the future if he stands up for someone else getting rapped and then he can feel atonement with himself.

kite runner atonement

It is possible to make amends. I think that it depends on the person to accept. Somethings may be thought unforgivable but I think that everyone should try to make amends instead of it becoming more and more hatred. It really all depends on yourself if you make the mistake and to atone.

Good vs. Evil

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good people do nothing.
- Edmund Burke

I strongly agree with the quote. Every person is going to need a hand every now and then. The only way the world will succeed is if we help one another. Specially if people live by an eye for an eye...then only good will come from it and everyone will help everyone to make this a happier place.

Decision making

Most decisions I make are based around my friends and family. I usually always attempt to make the right decision. Usually with my decision making I would like to think that I put other before me, to make them happy. With my college decisions I try to see what has the best offer. That can be education, money, internships, how far away from home it is, transportation, and etc. It seems that when I am about to make a decision it mostly just falls into place. The person I would like to become is someone who makes decisions always thinking of others if I don't do so already.
